about Sarah
Sarah Brooke Lustgarten is a writer with a creative mind and a poet’s soul, drawn to the ways stories inspire, uplift, and connect us. Born in Philadelphia and spending much of her life between there and Miami, she carries the people, places, and experiences that have influenced her life into her work.
She’s always known she was a writer. She spent her childhood trading poems with her grandmother by fax and filling notebooks with songs, but it was a fourth-grade teacher who recognized how naturally writing came to her and encouraged her to take storytelling seriously. That early spark showed her the power of words and ultimately led her to earn a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and journalism from the University of Miami and a master’s degree in creative writing and literature from Harvard University.
Sarah’s published work is in children’s literature, with two debut books scheduled for release in Spring 2026. She is also developing a poetry collection and a historical fiction novel for adult readers. Across genres and age groups, her writing reflects a sense of wonder, a search for meaning, and the small moments that shape us. She hopes her stories will invite readers to embrace their innate curiosity and creativity, and to feel seen and connected through story.
